I had a very large growth in my left groin. Two weeks ago, I had an excisional biospy. The lymph node was over 3 cm big. The surgeon said she had to go deep in my groin because the tumor was so deep and wrapped around and she isnt sure that she got all of it because of the depth. Hello. I had an excision of lesion right cheek done last week-lump was under skin- not on outside. This is what path report came back as from reference lab from my general surgeon. Hemangiopericytoma (tumor - spindle cell)

My dear Isabel has been diagnosed with a tumor of spindle cell origin, possible hemangiopericytoma. Her veterinarian recommended a specialist to have it removed. Apparently this type of tumor sends out little extensions so it is difficult to remove - or must be done carefully. We have a consult with a specialist within the next couple of weeks - and then surgery, I expect. Does anyone else ...

Merck Veterinary Manual My Golden had one removed from the top of his head about 3 yrs ago. At that time the vet was pretty sure he had gotten it all, and thankfully he seems he did. It has never grown back. Wishing you the same results with your guy! Keep us posted.
