Hey guys, I got a few ?'s about soy protein isolate. Ive read alot of threads and articles about it and it seems like a toss-up, some good and some bad. My questions are, is it a good source of protein(it's got a 90% purity rate), and would it be ok if i take it when i wake up and before i go to they gym? Then use whey isolate after workouts? The main reason i ask these questions is becuase bulk ...

You can get 4 lbs. of soy protein isolate from this company for $20. The deal used to be better, I believe it was 5 lbs. for even less money. They are not a body building supplement company. As far as I know, this is the only thing they sell that might be used by a body builder. It is unflavored, so it doesn't taste very enjoyable, but it dissolves very well. Has anyone else used this?

well, you got your vegan fake meat, and you got your vegetarian fake meat vegetarian fake meat uses eggs whites as a binder, and maybe for texture. both types of fake meat usually use one or both of soy protein (concentrate or isolate) and wheat protein (gluten). and then whatever quorn is--some sort a fungus. then you have your meat replacers. these are usually high protein foods that...

Thanks for all the info everyone. I noticed that many of you start your day with protein shakes. I have stopped drinking the soy protein isolate powder after alot of people warned me about the possible consequences. I think I can stomach a protein shake in the morning but what kind of protein shake are all of you drinking? I was wondering if there is something I can drink that has zero carbs ...

Hi, I am Er+ and on Arimidex and no one including my oncologist has told me not to use products containing soy.  My endocrnoglist has told me not to use some protein shakes from Shaklee because it could interfer with my thryroid.  I find it unusual that my cancer doctor would leave this information out.  I will ask her in Nov when I go for 4 month check up. This thread is great.  Thanks for...

From a personal experience, I have found that whey-based proteins, seem to be the most soluable, as opposed to soy and casein (egg). The stuff I take now is a whey isolate/concetrate blend, and I can mix it with a spoon. Any powder with casein or soy protein- I've always had to mix in a blender. I'm assuming you mean 20 oz of water and not 2 oz?

Soy protein isolate would be more of a worry than just regular soy milk. You should be fine (provided you like the taste of soy milk which I cannot stand).
