Well if you're going to upgrade your hardware in the future why not get the software you want now ie. SONAR 8.5 and Sound Forge Pro 10. Then if your Sound Card and even your PC don't perform that well upgrade your hardware. get a soundcard first and then upgrade the PC 2nd. Many guys are still getting stellar results with older gear including sound cards and computer hardware....

is everyone really having success with getting a Wave Editor to show up in the Tools in Sonar 8.51 x64?  i ran through the whole registry tweak (i think), and i can get Sound Forge to show up in the Tools Menu.  BUT, when i try to open it up (after i have already selected an audio clip to edit within Sound Forge), i get an ERROR "cannot create process". this was something i used to do all ...

if you look up sound forge there is a 30 day trial so you can try mixing your stuff i did my own mix with no training it was great for a first timer could be alot better. but for a beginnner you should try it its awesome and in the trial version you can use about 75 percent of the stuff you can even take advantage of the deal and do all you have to do and then just copy to your cd and youre done...

Yea, SoundForge is killer.  I have a copy of 8.0 that I use for work (and home sometimes....shhhhhh )  Real easy to use.  I havn't even gotten to half of what it can do, but everything I've done has been real easy to do.
