Hi there, have a bit of a problem with these sidedraft carbs, have researched a lot including heaps of threads here but haven't been able to find an answer. I'm still learning about carbs so this have been quite a timely process. The setup; 5k with twin 40mm Solex Sidedrafts (and some aftermarket cam) I don't know if much else is relevant? No vacuum advance, brake booster running vacuum...

So, I was getting ready to put away my Solex's for my 65' 911 and part of my hardware has gone missing. I'm hoping that in releasing some of my extra parts I can complete my carbs. The part that went missing are from the butterfly shaft to the carb pump on all six carbs. I have the aluminum plates for the pumps. So here is what I have to trade: -Three polished velocity stacks,...

Hi all, I have a US spec 1975 Spider 2000 that the previous owner changed from fuel injected to twin Solex's. The car seems to be running very rich (cant get any kind of blue flame with color tune and the car "hunts") it also backfires out the exhaust on deaccaleration. I have fitted a slightly higher lift cam but nothing major. The Solex's are running 150 mains and 47 idle jets. Most of the ...

I'm running a Solex h30/31 pict1 . I'am getting fuel into the float, but nothing is squirting into the throat when i open it up. I have cleaned and rebuilt this carb. I put it back together and it still wont work. I have broken the carb down again and went through it with a fine tooth comb. Everything is good except the accel. pump "passage". It seems to be plugged. I can't get any air or ...

I'm assembling a few parts for the motor. I'm running a stock Willys F-134 Hurricane I4 with the stock mechanical fuel pump and solex replacement carb (budget has postpone the Weber). If anybody has had a bad experience with Mr.Gasket 9710 fuel regulators let me know. I'm gonna try it at about 2.5 psi and see how she likes it.

I just picked up a very early 911 motor - type 901/01, #900490. It has the solex mechanical fuel pump and freeze plugs in the holes in the cam covers for the center feed oil lines. I know this has the sand cast aluminum case, but what else was different about these early motors? Anyone looking for this one for their early '65 911?
