How is everyone jetting their single solex for a 1641 TP? or are you all just using standard jets? Very interested in how to get the best out of this set up. i am running a SVAD dizzy, points and condensor. having a carb rebuilt by Lawrie Ellis that should return soon and was wondering if i should call him about jetting. Instant bolt on power for £225 ovno + £25 p+p (these will be signed for and well wrapped) these came of my sons 1641 twin port we are in the Gloucester area
I have a set of solex carbs and a euro intake for sale. The carbs came off of my Alfetta and were working well at that time. I put a gasket set on them because of a leaky fuel issue and drove for at least a year. I switched them for a set of Webers because I just like the Webers better. $400.00 for both intake and carbs. has anyone seen this sort of thing. I have a pair of solex cams that were in my 2.4T. the left hand one has the end machined and an MFI drive attached. the motor was running MFI. thanks, Don.

Hi, My nephew just bought a '74 that has a solex progresssive carb on it. It had water in the gas and the insides look bad inside the carb so I am looking to rebuild it and need a kit to do it. Also a good source for the settings would be great. Thanks Rob

Are my needle valves operating properly? I drained the gas from bowls of my aftermarket carbs for winterizing. Each carb has a drain plug so I got a little glass jar and drained the driver's side carb first. The gas ran out of the bowl and stopped flowing after a 20 mls or so. Looking to replace the "stock" Solex on my R8, the accelerator pump is leaking, along with it just acting up. Has anyone removed the inlet manifold of a GS motor only to find that the base of the aluminium casting is eaten through with corrosion? This is the case with my 1972 GS 1220.
