Usually don't post to the group at all but my anxiety is up and need to get some feedback in hopes that it helps reduce it. Ifiled a original claim way back in the 80's when I was medically retired from the USMC. However, because it didn't have any mental haelth issues or diagnosis I was denied. Then in 1997 I was hit by a drunk driver in front of the church which totalled to full size ...

This is how I think of social skills. This isn't a psychology journal article so I won't try to make a perfect, all-encompassing definition, just the one that helps me get my head around the topic: Social skills allow you to achieve your goals in the social world. Sorry if I'm hard to understand at times; I'm having some of that "brain fog" today and I get mentally tired really easily. For the record, I' m 37, male, Caucasian/part Native American and living in Austin, Texas. It all started around the time I graduated from high school. I started having unusual tiredness, mood swings and general malaise. (It was only months after I had chicken pox and less...

"Computer addiction Drug abuse and dependence " is complex. In my case I'm online all the time because of my physical Physical activity Physical exam frequency Physical examination disability and I'm homebound. However, there was one social networking site I was on for a while where I was engaged in political debates. It was a lot of fun, a good way of engaging people and helped ...

Phlogiston, witchcraft, drapetomania, bodily humours and many more were all, at one time, "scientifically studied and evaluated" as though they were "real phenomena," but are now discarded and defunct paradigms. Hello - I have just joined this group, and I am glad to be here. I am the mother of a 27-year-old son, who is a recovering alcoholic. He has been sober just about one year now, thank God. He is very good about going to AA meetings , even though he used to resist them, and has been in in-patient rehab a couple of times, but hopefully, those days are over... My dilemma now is that ...

first off here is the article that got me personally thinking, Psychology Today: Lyme Disease: The Great Imitator . Now for the long story. I was always described like someone with social anxiety disorder from a very young age. (here is where I think ) there was a point in 4th grade I went from an A-B student to a D-F student during a 6-week period and ...

You cannot honestly call it a disability without understanding what it really is and no one really understands that yet. To call it an addiction is like saying the need to breath air is an addiction. There is no cure for it. Addiction can be cured....
