Well he should be winding down the teething thing, so you need to correct this. I don't like the command "no" as it comes up in conversation, and can confuse the puppy. If your commands are not working, change them, "shame" "off" "stop" "behave" "settle down" don't for get to praise him when he does good. It isn't too late, you just need to keep at it. Puppies want to please you, so you have...

Good morning everyone...and I hope you're having a good week so far. I'm finally out of "vacation mode" and almost back to normal....LOL.... Now I'm starting to think about the holidays....gifts, decorating, etc. I can't wait to decorate for Christmas....I'm so tired of hearing about the bad economy with all the gloom and doom....I need some positive reinforcement..... ...

We've done NILIF with her since the day she was brought home and it has helped oodles. When she was a puppy she was horrible. I was a breath away from finding a new home for her and the only reason I didn't was because 1.) she was my dog and 2.) you can't rehome a dog with behaivor problems to just anyone and I wouldn't trust her with anyone less than an experienced dog owner and trainer....

Yup...the popping trainer is stuck back in the olden days. She, like many has lost sight of the point of having dogs and is so hung up on winning ribbons and trophies that her priorities IMO are skewed and not about how dogs and people were meant to be. Besides that, there are loads of fantastically trained show winners who are trained without that rough treatment...that are trained with positive...

Got it! Is this a single snap or a click--click thing? A single snap is bad training and bad temperment but mostly training issues....and a dominant dog. Chows are known snappers......You mention when you used to walk with this neighbor and the dog would frequently snap around your dog.. Did the owner do anything at all? Any type of correction? If not, my guess is he is a bit afraid of the dog as...

Something is causing her to react this way. Garbo is like this to an extent. She does not growl at me or my partner, but she is motion sensitive. So, if a cat flies by, she snaps, or if I happen to start dancing or something, she gets ansty and barks. I agree with Ohbirdlady... the dog needs to know that YOU are in charge. One of the ...

We have a 10 lb chi/terrier mix. She is a great dog. She isn't the friendliest dog but she does warm up to people once she gets to know them. We've gotten her use to being around lots of people (we have a huge family). Anyhow she does go to a Dog daycare and I never have any issues with her being aggressive. She's always reported as being playful and cuddly with other dogs. BUT ...

Question we have a 7 month old english bulldog bitch. She is fabulous and funny and kind but also boisterous and strong and misbehaves on a lead so that my daughter, complete with toddler in a pram, can no longer manage her walks. She jumps up at people if we allow her off the lead in woods etc so that's no good either. When I walk her she pulls me constantly and jumps at any cars that go ...

Question My dog almost 2years old, started to take area rugs, shoes, etc. and runs around shaking them. When trying to take item he growls. He sneaks into a room at night he's not allowed in & sleeps in a chair. If he hears someone he hops out & acts innocent. In the past week he peed in the house twice during the night even after being outside. He also barks at whatever & doesn't quit when ...

Question My husband and I have just adopted a jack russell cross from the local shelter, she is about 1 year old. We just brought her to the vet for kennell cough but other than that she is healthy. the problem is that when we try to teach her to sit, or come she pees on the floor. she acts like we will hurt her. I imagine sh didn't have the best first year of her life but we need her to ...
