It seems just safer to brown the ground beef before putting it in your crockpot. It should improve the taste too.

I wanted to make this soup later in the week and didn't realize that it is supposed to be cooked for an hour on high and then six hours on low. Any help would be great. Thanks! -Heather Spicy Beef and ...

The whole point of ORIGINAL CORE is RECOGNIZE when you are hungry. UNDERSTAND your comfort level. NEVER let yourself get to hungry or to full. EAT food from the CORE list to satisfy your hunger. Just a little thread title translation - shuck roast = chuck roast. Maybe the typo will grab some attention I barbecued a nice piece of chuck roast the other night but made the mistake of shortening cooking time by using direct heat in my Webber Kettle Cooker instead of the usual indirect heat and slow cooking. Can chili con carne be safely canned using the boiling hot water method? This is the recipe I'd like to try.But if you experts tell me no It won't be done until I buy a pressure cooker.I know it says "pressure canner"..If the meat is omitted out of that recipe can it still be canned?I'd rather be safe then sorry. Chile con Carne A great one-dish meal to stock in your pantry....
