First off, GNR is my favorite band! I LOVE EVERY SONG THEY EVER MADE! I can't wait to hear, Chinese Demoracy, because I know it will be GREAT! But, why do people think Slash was so important to the band. Don't get me wrong, I like Slash, and he is a GREAT guitar player, but Axl and Izzy are so much more talented! I like Duff, because of his punkness that he brought to the band...  |

I agree with you, slipperykitty! GNR IS THE GREATEST BAND EVER! I do like Slash, but I just think it is stupid how people act like he was the one that made the band great. He helped, but it wasn't all him! |

I jumped ship when Izzy left the band,but Slash is great and has a stand alone guitar sound. GNR are Axl,Slash and Izzy.Without one of them it just ain't the same.Look at VR,the latest GNR and The Ju Ju Hounds.None are as good as the original GNR band. Bright cold light,bookends this life |

Gimme a break. Chinese Democracy will never live up to a 15 year hype. At least not for me. And I'll admit I like GNR and I've heard the title track from the album and it wasn't bad, but 15 years is flat out ridiculous. The cover art sucks too. Top hats are all you need. If you go to Hollywood wearing a top hat, I guarantee you'll get rich within five seconds. We're not hitchhiking ... |

Of course they're not the same with Slash and the rest of the gang. I personally like the direction Axl is taking things. It's fresh and interesting. I'm listening to Chinese Democracy right now and it's a stellar record. Any GnR fan should definitely check it out. Definitely worth the wait! |

Hi guys I generally play quite slow bluesy solos, and I've always avoided speed exercises, because fast soloing has never been my thing. But, recently, I've realised how often my idols play slow licks, before blasting into a fast run, then back into the slow (Slash does it, Buddy Guy takes it to the extreme, etc.). Unfortunately, I just don't seem to have the technique to manage that sort... |

Question I always admired Gary's Tone and playing style. While I'm aware that he mainly used a regular Marshall half stacks (50 Watts I believe) and late fifties Gibson Les Paul's. I was wondering what effects (if any) he used live. It seems that I remember reading back in the day that he only used a Crybaby or a real Leslie for chorus effects. I was curious if the might be any other effects ... | |
