I had a large skin cancer removed from behind my ear a couple years ago. I don't sunbathe and have very very thick hair that would have blocked lethal sun rays, even if I did. I would say its definitely possible and when the topic is cancer, I would say take it very seriously until it is completely ruled out. Much easier to stop it when it's early than to fight it when it is more developed. It is definitely plausible, although rare for a child to develop skin cancer. So many people have been emailing me asking if I'm okay I've decided to just let everyone know what's been happening. I've been in a very deep depression for several months now and in October I learned I had 2 basal cell skin cancers on my face. One was under my left eye and one was on the tip of my nose. I have a friend who passed last week from malignant melanoma. For those who don't know, melanoma is a fairly common skin cancer that when malignant is a very very serious killer. It is my understanding that when caught early, it is one of the easiest cancers to cure, but when it is caught late it is one of the hardest cancers to cure.
