Hey gang. I have incoming email working on our WSS 3.0 site. I can make the Active Directory integration work, but only if I make the Application Pool account (wssadmin) a local Administrator on the server. Since that would be a really insecure thing to do, I'd like to do it the "right" way... but I don't know what I'm missing. Here's what I have done: I have assigned permissions to the AD OU....

I am trying to upgrade a 2003 Portal site to 2007 Sharepoint using database migration. Our existing 2003 Portal site is set up with a sitecollection on the root, with the sites under it (/dept) being site collections themselves. The main site comes over fine...the other sitecollections (which all use their own CUSTOM site definitions on the 2003 side) do not seem to map to the 2007 site ...

I have a portal running WSS 3.0, and while most workstations are joined to the domain, we have some that are not. I have a strange issue where some users are able to log in (DOMAIN\\username) and navigate the SharePoint site without incident, but others are continually prompted to authenticate. This happens even if it is an administrator logging in, so it does not appear that it is a user-based...

Manishrao Patil said: Hey apart from what madhur wrote, you can actually dump your custom pages into sharepoint site as below: goto your sharepoint/wss site in inetpub for e.g. C:\\Inetpub\\wwwroot\\wss\\VirtualDirectories\\300 0 where 3000 is the port number of your sharepoint site. inside this folder create a new sub-folder/directory and dump the custom aspx inside it. e.g C:\\Inetpub\\...

Hi, I have a SharePoint Designer (SPD) workflow with the following "start" option: Automatically start this workflow when a new item is created This workflow was created using the SharePoint "System Account." This workflow is attached to a Forms Library in a MOSS 2007 (with MOSS SP1 and WSS 3.0 SP1) site. And this Library hosts InfoPath-based documents. And I believe that the ...

Thanks for giving me a hint to trace the location of error. I found that what you have suggested is correct. i.e the search service account to run the Windows Sharepoint services Search service has been disabled. I tried to change the search service account to an active account from Active directory Users. But this leads to an unhandled access exception, the details of which is given here ...

Running WSS 3.0 without anonymous access. Tried to sign-in as a different user, testing out a new Active Directory subdomain. It didn't work, and returned a 500 Internal Server Error message. However, if I try to navigate back to the home page, or any other page on the sharepoint site, I keep getting the message. However, I can sign-...

Distribution Groups don't appear in SharePoint ... only "security groups" do. So you have 2 choices: 1) Change your distribution group to a Security Group. . and then "email enable" it (so the members still receive emails .. like a distribution group .. but you can add the group to sharepoint and show the members using the "Site Users" web part. 2) Create a custom web part to search Active ...

In a moment of boneheaded spacyness I inadvertently removed the database from Central Administration instead of from the site I intended. So, of course now Central Administration doesn't work, which is bad. I tried to re-add the database using: stsadm -o addcontentdb -url http://server:23330 -databaseserver server\MICROSOFT##SSEE -databasename WSS_AdminContent ...but I got "Access ...
