This is the perfect thread to ask a few questions... I have a few mountain bikes, and I want to build up one using some of my BMX parts and parts on those bikes. 1) I want it to be a 9 speed. Im so fucking sick of my front derailleur and much prefer the look and simplicity of a single gear. I ride way too many hills to go completely one speed, so, thats not an option. Can I use my old profiles to...

I ride every day. I have three bikes. A mountain bike, a single speed and a fixed. My fixed is immaculate and I basically use it as a trainer. When I have to go in town, and I know I'm going to be locking up, I'll ride one of the other two. That is how you keep it nice.

From the time we found out about the place until we moved back to Colorado in September we went 5 times I think. I was by no means a "regular". That and I do tend to stay away from MX tracks, I think I may have gone out on the track once. I enjoyed the single track there too much. No one ever rode it so it was pristine. My bikes never had problems on the trails, mostly due to the fact that ...

Mine already had names; Road bike, mountain bike, and single speed. This all reminds me of a scene from Full Metal Jacket - "Give your rifle a name, because this is the only p*ssy you are going to get"!

Help,.................I am not sure that I am in the right forum. I am looking for an inexpensive aluminum comfort bike. I go to Florida about three times a year. I presently have a Giant Cypress which is great. I use it as an exercise bike to ride 20-40 minutes in the morning. I ride it everywhere I can. Occasionally to work, grocery, golf course, video store…………….I initially ...

For a couple months now, I've been dying to do a 300 or so mile ride I read about in Rider magazine. It's in SoCal and involves the Ojai loop all the way up into the Mojave and back around. Up till now, my longest single day ride was about 165 miles. So I've been slowly working my way up the mileage ladder, and this past weekend I really put it down. My buddy and I left my house in the San ...

Just thought I would give you all an update on the Moots. I have done a few hundred km's on this bike now and just finished a 110km mountain bike race. The race consisted of rough open fire trails and a fair bit of narrow single track as well so it was a great testing ground. http://www.wildhorizons.com.au/highl...g/results.h tml My result was the best for me yet, in particular the...

I am looking to purchase a new/used MTN bike and my budget is ~600. I been looking at the IH warrior 4.5 and GT avalanche 1.0 at the LBS. I tested out both bikes but the IH 4.5 wasn't my size so I couldn't get the real feel. Even though, to me, the IH 4.5 looks better than the avalanche I don't want to buy a bike because of the looks. I have no expericance on parts so any help will be appreciated...
