It is my understanding that the bike was built up around a rigid fork and I've found a nice chro-mo one for a decent price. the frame is made in tawain i think. most of the bikes in this price range are tawainase made. The steamroller is an excellent commuter bike. Room for wider tires. fender and rack mounts would make nice features for a commuter but you win some you lose some.
