I found a Sig P228 yesterday that i'm thinking about getting. I don't really want another 9mm right now but i can't really beat the price. The only downsides to it is that it has some slight wear. The wear doesn't really concern me too much since it's just normal holster wear and i've seen worse. My only other issue with it is that it comes with 2 10rd mags. I know standard for the 228 and ...

Lots of dealers are now in possession of Sig P228s which are NIB. These are frankenguns. They are P228 slides on P229 SAS frames. Once dealer claimed they were old stock. They are not. They are parts guns assembled using parts from the US and Germany. There had been talk that Sig had slides but no frames. This is their solution. Again I am not saying do not by these pistols. I am not ...

As to the OP, the Sig P226 mags function perfectly in a P228. They stick out of the bottom of the gun a bit, but that is the only "problem". I know of some that carry their P228 with the standard 13 round mag and a P226 15 round mag as a reload. The gun your are looking at was probably made after 1994 and therefore came with the neutered "Clinton" mags. There are plenty of factory 13 rounders ...

I once owned both guns. I kept the Glock. Although my SIG was accurate (in slow fire) and reliable, I could just never warm up to its long trigger reach, long DA pull, transition to SA pull and fat grip. I shot so much better with the Glock, right out of the box, as to almost be a revelation.
