Was with a client this morning, and I think that I may have been responsible for breaking her windows sidebar gadgets. My prior VISTA sidebar gadgets included the daily running stock market...7 does not provide this? if 7 does have the daily stock quote...would you please instruct me on how to install it. Thanks 1 person needs an answer I do too

Years ago I downloaded a program that had post it notes. But I forgot to have them on the desktop all the time. And they cluttered.. I know this is possible but all the tutorials i find on how to do this state that you need to copy the Vista sidebar folder.....i dont have Vista installed now though! (my only copy of Vista is a recovery partition (is a HP laptop)). This is on Windows 7 Pro x64, i used to have Vista Home Premium x64 installed. Hi; I use Vista and I would like to get to use the new windows 7. But the problem is that it does not have the sidebar where i can place my gadgets like what vista has. I like the sidebar. I cannot change unless the sidebar can be placed like for instance downloading and installing it. Any recommendation on how i can get it. Is it even possible to have it on windows 7.

We purchased this computer in May of 2009. The operating system is Windows Vista 32 bit. My sidebar was not installed when we purchased the computer. How can I retrieve the software to reinstall the program? Every time I try to log in I get the error "Windows sidebar has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem". 1 person needs an answer I do too

Ik wil de oude vertrouwde Vista Sidebar terug en heb op het net wat trucs gevonden om dit te realiseren. Daarvoor moet ik wel de orignele sidebar bestanden overschrijven. Hi, Two things: 1) When you right click the icon in the system tray, click on 'bring gadgets to front'. 2) Same right click, check properties then 'view a list of running gadgets'. a) Are there any listed? and b) If there are, start removing them one by one until the sidebar appears. Also make sure the box at the top of the sidebar properties dialog is checked to load it when Windows starts.

Actually, the windows sidebar has been taken out. Instead you can just have the gadgets without the sidebar on our desktop. To activate the gadgets go to the start menu, and type in gadgets. Click 'Desktop Gadgets' and you get the gadgets in a separate window, just like in Vista, and drag and drop them on to you desktop.

Hallo, ich habe außer der deinstallation vom Internet Explorer 8 derzeit auch keine Lösung aber vieleicht hilft dieser Beitrag ja auch anderen, die auch Probleme mit dem IE8 haben oder die sich der Fehlerquelle IE8 gar nicht bewusst sind und die nach einer Lösung zur Behebung von Problemen mit der Vista Sidebar suchen. Hallo, bereits unter XP mit der Google Sidebar und mit Vista habe ich mich sehr an die Sidebar gewöhnt. Unter Windows 7 wurde diese ja zu Gadgets umgewandelt. Standardmäßig werden diese ja nur auf dem Desktop angezeigt. Da ich fast ausschließlich im Vollbildmodus arbeite, vermisse ich die Sidebar sehr.
