I live in Austin and have several years of experience with a good-sized fig collection. Based on my past experience, your best bet is not to over-protect your figs. The temperatures in Austin rarely go below 20 F. I would expose all of the figs (assuming you don't have any that have rooted in the last 2 or 3 mo.) to the mid-30, low-30 and upper 20's nights that we are likely to have before we ...

"Well, I switched over to schaeffers 7000 10w-30" You're one of the only people I have ever seen that knows of this stuff. My friend is a wholesale dealer and showed it to me. So I am testing the 9000 full synthetic in my Saturn SL2. It's a little "spendy". The Saturn recommends 5w-30 but all the place I found it had was 5-40 but I figured it would be fine. I have noticed a slight 1 to 1.5 ...

I wear one of three different pairs depending on the weather, but ALWAYS wear gloves no matter what the temp because I really feel, like wearing a leather jacket, (even though many of my buds don't agree), it's a safely nessessity....part of "dressing for the fall, not the ride". (As much of a downer as that sounds.) No matter what my glove choice, I have to have that tactile sensation of ...

A pre-frontal scenario so common for this time of the year along our Texas coast : Fishing has been sensational for the past several days, and you could not have asked for better water conditions and tides. But, you awake the next morning to what seems to you as a whole other world. Before getting out of bed you hear a harsh wind pulsating against the side of the house and hear it inflicting ...

Question QUESTION: A friend brought goats to my farmette, and they were not vaccinated. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed the oldest (a little over a year) was off in her back left leg. I told my friend, who didn't seem concerned and thought she had hurt herself. She got progressively worse until she was lying down, and as of two weeks ago could no longer even prop herself up. I called the vet ...
