It was a really weird day today. A very beautiful day, weather-wise: clear skies with temps between 29* - 64* today. Great walking around weather. Back to the weirdness . . . I took some more bus routes today. My first bus ride . . . a gentleman gets on carry an oxygen tank. He then goes on to tell me that he's an alcoholic and a drug addict, but that he's been ...

I find these "bear" threads so amusing. Especially enjoy the "input" by the people who have NEVER seen a bear, much less interacted with one. Grizzly bears are EXTREMELY strong and have proven to be deadly to modern man several times a year, on average, in AK, Canada and it's small range in MT/WY. Every time I see one in the wild or hunt in their area I'm reminded of a documented story ...

Blownaway - 16/10/2008 00:41  That scene with the night-time alert must have been....interesting. The overnight storm came during the night of the 22nd/23rd May right between the two most active chase days of our break - was almost as if the storms refused to leave central/west Kansas alone for nearly 48 hrs! The storm blowing the power and setting off the alarms certainly caught us all by ...

Goats

Question QUESTION: A friend brought goats to my farmette, and they were not vaccinated.  About 3 weeks ago, I noticed the oldest (a little over a year) was off in her back left leg.  I told my friend, who didn't seem concerned and thought she had hurt herself.  She got progressively worse until she was lying down, and as of two weeks ago could no longer even prop herself up.  I called the vet ...
