For one, there is no fuel provided to the alternator, the alternator is pulley driven and does nothing towards starting the car. As the serpentine belt is moving with the motor is uses the coils in the alternator to charge the battery as you are using/driving the vehicle. So Alternator= battery charger (no fuel) Sounds like it could be a starter, is the car clicking when you are trying to ...

I say go #1 but add a bov right after the turbocharger. That setup picture is what used to be used in (I forget what class) Rally cars and they were banned because the available chassis' at the time could not handle the power, and the cars had too much and people died. For a practical daily-driven car, that's what I'd go with though. You wouldn't NEED two intercoolers, either. I would ...

This is the ultimate in cheap tow vehicles. I bought it a couple of years ago in AZ...not a molecule of rust on it. The guy who owned it owns a moving company and had all maint. done as part of his fleet service. Whenever it needed anything, it got it immediately. For example, at 80,000 miles (I bought it at about 100k), the rear end developed a hum, so he brought it in and had them put a brand ...

You guys are overthinking this way too much! I was pointing it out for ones who are competitive in their quest for mpg. It isn't complicated. You remove the serpentine belt when you enter a mileage competition(not the alternator, p/s pump and a/c), then replace it when done. Or if you find yourself 100 miles from the nearest diesel and have 2 gallons left in the tank you can help ensure you make...

my ac works fine, i just get a really loud grinding bearing noise that comes on as soon as this pulley wheel for the compressor stops moving, when its moving all fine and dandy, the noise stops, but when it stops rotating it makes a harsh grinding sound that makes the car sound like a tank! just to demonstrate how loud it is, you can hear it over the clatter of the diesel engine, that surely is ...
