I don't think identity theft would work with any of this stuff. The newest ID is from 1990, not even barcoded, and the vast majority of the stuff is just not relevant to personal identification. It's interesting to look through the licenses and follow the development of them over time from a hand-typed Dept of Revenue product through to a computer generated PenDOT photo ID with security ...

Tulsa firm develops groundbreaking hologram technology. The image of an ordinary cup was barely a half-inch high and displayed in the same green used by antique computer monitors. But unlike regular holograms, it's truly three-dimensional. When observers moved to the side, the handle appeared to rotate around the cup, and when they moved their gaze up they ...

10 Night of the Hunter (1955) (2nd viewing). The strangest children's story I've ever seen. We are used to see kids as in To Kill a mockingbird , which is not bad by far, but that is the conventional portrayal of childhood ever since The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. NoH is quite expressionistic at some points, with ugly character features exaggerated until they became monstrous and not-so-...

10 Night of the Hunter (1955) (2nd viewing). This time, apart from everything else, I just loved the way Gish's character treats Ruby's crush on Powell. It's the kind of thing out of which the people in the Jane Austen-style universes are making such a big fuss, and here it's being delightfully dismissed with an eye roll. But then, both Gish and Mitchum are delightful (-ly creepy, in the...

Data: No sir, we do not. LaForge: Hang on, wait a second! If we recalibrate the holo-deck forcefield emitters to bounce a tachyon field off of a low-grade warp bubble, then use the hallway security forcefields to condense the projected waveform, we could put a hologram anywhere on the ship. Data: In theory, I do believe that would work. Riker: (smiles) Well call me Wolf Blitzer. Picard: Make...

Instead of the normal head in a window or split screen display used when interviewing remote guests, [Wolf Blitzer] will be interviewing 3d holograms. Supposedly, they will be recording in a way that allows for 360 views to be projected on stage with [Wolf]. We’ll have to wait and see exactly how they plan to [...] More... http://www.security-alert.nl

12:00 AM, 03-NOVEMBER-08 Obama Vs. McCain In 10 Sci-Fi Movies My fellow Americans, science fiction has anticipated our current national dilemma: forever wars, economic collapse, mutant zombies running in the streets.
