Hi everyone, long time lurker. I have a question about running a proxy server on one of the computers on my routered network. I have an older computer that I want to set up a proxy server on at home. That way, when I'm out and about, I can connect my laptop over the internet through a proxy to use my connection at home. I've tried running WinGate as a proxy server but was not sure if it ...

Have tried most of the advice I've found online. I'm currently living in a student accomodation, where the internet is supplied. Am wondering, could it be a firewall with them, that prevents the connection? Or would that show up on the diagnostics? I am currently using IE and firefox. I think my problem has been ever since I installed and configured a VPN client to be able to ...

1. Bring up two ISA servers load balanced. This would mean two consolidated storage servers, two ISA servers each with three NICs, basically a full blown redundant ISA configuration. The plus here is high availability. The negatives include a good bit of work to install and configure this and my content filter solution is not supported on a cluster so I would need to install it and configure it...

i have to agree that the current events category e.m.p artist certainly is a bit of an irritant. whilst i am certainly not a fan of trollophobes, sock-puppet conspiracy theorists, and xenophobic new-registrant tormentors & other bullies & crybabies and would-be censors on general principle, i think i see where this is heading and it is not good. present company excepted of course, i would say ...

This may shed some light. Basically, RPC grabs some ports dynamically that may be needed by other processes. \ Hi jsmithmis, Thanks for using the SBS newsgroup. From your description, I understand the issue to be: the RWW site can not be work properly and receive error message "Connectivity to the remote computer could not be established¡*" when attempting to connect to one ...

Hi all Recently I'v been working on some ajax on our site. My preferred way to do ajax, is via a soap server (created with nusoap) and I consume it with a modified javascript soap client. All the soap tutorials I had read so far, had never said anything about security, so while implementing my soap servers, consuming the servers etc, I started thinking about how many security holes...

I am having problems setting up a proxy on my Mac. I use this proxy to get on secure pages. I know how to set this proxy up on my Windows machine. Here is how I do it on my Windows machine. First I open up internet options in control panel. Then I click connection tab at the top. Next, I click LAN settings. I click the box saying "Use a proxy server for your LAN". Then, in the Address ...
