Anyone know the seat post clamp size for the 2008 Dragon 29? I need to replace mine and need to finalize an order before I'll have access to my bike to check it.

If the Dragon 29er has the same tube size as the Dragon 26er, it needs a 28.6mm clamp, the same as the front derailleur clamp size. Hope that helps and isn't too late.

Hello, I have read some manufactures of carbon seat post suggest that the clamp be positioned so the open end of the clamp be facing the front of the bike. It is stated the this prevents the clamp from damaging the post from over torque of the clamp. But, I have noticed that bikes shown in photos and the ones pro riders use all have the open end of the clamp facing the rear of the ...

who'd think one would need to replace their seat post clamp but mine sucks a phat one! I've had issues my seat post dropping in the past and thought I just didn't tighten the clamp down enough. It dropped on me yesterday in my race and again this morning on my ride. So I'm looking for a new one. Any recommendations on a reliable clamp?

I gave up and put a clamp on the post to keep it sliding down. So I use two in conjunction. Perhaps the post is ever so undersized, but it works fin.

Just ordered a new QR Seatpost clamp but not sure that I've ordered the right one Seat post has 31.6mm stamped on it so I've ordered a 31.8mm clamp. Is that ok? Unfortunately my current clamp has no dims printed on it Thanks guys Adam. - '09 Hifi Pro Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I had issues with a thompson post slipping. Post and clamp were right size. Frame may have been reamed oversized. Solution: Remove post and clamp. Use contact cleaner to remove all grease from inside of seat-tube. With finger wipe a liberal amount of blue loctite inside seat-tube. Let dry overnight. Reinstall seatpost. Clamp with normal amount of torque. Never had a problem again!...
