hey out there. is there a decent working full screen magnifier for ubuntu? i am used to using zoomtext on windows (between 6-10 x magnification) but i would like to try out ubuntu. i have tried the standard beryl zoom functionality before, but the picture quality became very crappy when using high magnifications, and it is very confusing the way the "zoomed area" follows the mouse...  |

Hello, noeyewar. I as a former ZoomText user back when I used Windows, over a year and a half ago now. I now use Ubuntu 8.04 ("Hardy Heron") with Compiz Fusion and its Enhanced Zoom plug-in. 1)used a screen magnifier that the state loans out to see if it helps then you can decide whether to buy one...............anyone used these? I liked it but I do not know if it helped my mother, whom I wanted to benefit. 2)anyone have a large screen digital tv and have visual problems and think it helps? I know this is old, but..this is one of the luckiest finds I have found on the forums. I was searching for a hour or two for a program I could use when I made some screen capture videos (for magnifying an address bar, etc). thanks for finding this |

editing a text box that is close to the top of the screen. No matter how I place my finger on the text and drag across it to place the cursor within the existing text, I can't see what text the cursor is currently at, due to the magnified "bubble" being positioned partly off-screen. Anyone else notice this glitch?... |
