even though I've posted this over and over with no real good response. I have an HP 5500cx scanjet scanner. when I scan on it, I see a lot of noise/color/reflection/dust from the scan tray. also, (when I use the auto-loader especially) I get light curling around the edges of the photos. Image control: Zoom out | Zoom 100% | Zoom in | Expand / Contract | New window...

QUOTE (Vertigo58 @ Monday, November 17th, 2008 @ 4:55pm) Oh my God Sparky! Your a genius! and what a coincidence, I was scanning (finally) some vintage family pics yesterday and was going to do one my mom took in this exact local at Playland or at least I am certain. However for some insane reason we (kids or someone) cut it to where only moms head is showing above a cutout like ...

I have been using film for a few months now, and am discovering things by trial and error, that the old pros probably already know. The film itself matters a lot. Broadly, there are two kinds, pro and consumer, guess which costs more and which is almost always better? The size of the film matters a lot! My 6mm X 4.5mm film shot with a Fuji come out much better than the 35mm shot with a...

I am scanning some 35mm slides that were taken by my grandfather in the 80s and 90s. I can get the scanner to scan the image and it looks good EXCEPT it is cutting off the outside of the image, what I mean is the top and sides are cropped a little. I am using an EPSON Perfection 2580 scanner which scans one slide at a time. Is there something that I am doing wrong or is this common? Maybe I am ...

Sure hope that I am posting this in the correct place! This is what I do when its raining. We, my ten year old daughter and I, are currently working on a project that is a gift for my dad. We have converted our family 35mm slides to digital and in the process of scanning and editing old family pictures. This is long and tedious task if you could only imagine. My plan is to have them ...
