Agree. However, IMO, Sig already has too many confusing models without a good explanation of the differences between them. That's an area where Sig's website is very poor. Don't forget, as the number of models increases, the less likely it is that you will be able to find what you want at your local gun store. about the only successful 9mm para unlocked breech straight blowback i've seen, and fired, was the old astra m-600. most .380s are straight blowback and, as david points out, are just not designed to handle high pressure loads, the m-600 was a full sized service pistol with a heavy slide and a stiff recoil spring to control the pressure of the 9mm cartridge. I can not speak to the thin grips on a P220, but I can on a 1911, both Commander size and Officer size. I put thin grips on all of my 1911 handguns. It does make a difference to me for concealment, feel of the grip and operating the magazine release. As always, YMMV. I don't think they ever went out of production. Sig did stop importing P228's into the U.S. These were definitely 228's. There were 229's on the same table. I even asked the dealer what was the difference. He picked up a 228 and a 229 and showed me the removable breach face of the 228. There is also the difference in the slide contour. These had rails, indicating that they were recent ...

I saw a P228R at a gun show in Pasadena TX (near Houston) a few weeks ago. The price was in the $700 - $800 range. I don't remember exactly, but I think it was in the low $700's. The gun shows in the Houston, TX area probably have the lowest prices of anywhere in the country. Texas is a gun friendly state and the dealers here do a lot of volume. I have carried 1911's with 3, 3.5 and 4 inch barrels in a Milt Sparks Summer Special. Milt Sparks holsters are as good as they get. The down side is the wait to get one. An alternative is a Bianchi Pistol Pocket, if it is made for your particular model and you don't mind a retention strap. For carry without an outer garment, like in the triple digit temperatures we have here in Texas, I...

The Texas Department of Public Safety issues .357 Sig. I don't know what was their criteria. Well I have just emailed SIG Sauer and Smith & Wesson and asked them if it is safe to store their handguns in the original factory cases, foam and all. I have heard conflicting information on this for a long time so I just decided to get the answer from the horses mouth. I will let you guys know what their response is. Maybe we can put this question to rest before long. By the way, I have ...
