Hmm, I don't think there's much cause for concern, even if she did manage to get elected in with that dessicated old bag of bones. Witchcraft should technically be covered under freedom of religion (at least insofar as it is used as a religious practice), so any legislation that tried to get passed regarding it would most likely get shot ...

This is a terrible crime against the Nigerian people. The govt must have some money coming in from those priests who terrorize people to make money to perform phoney exorcisms. Sounds like the Salem witch trials. In that type of situation there is nothing the children can do to prevent their attacks and I'm sure the parents will comply thinking that sacrificing one child for the rest of the ...

"The Salem witch trials were a series of hearings before local magistrates followed by county court trials to prosecute people accused of witchcraft in Essex, Suffolk, and Middlesex Counties of colonial Massachusetts, between February 1692 and May 1693. Over 150 people were arrested and imprisoned, with even more accused who were not formally pursued by the authorities. The two courts convicted ...

Zzulu wrote: Current scholarly estimates of the number of people executed for witchcraft vary between about 40,000 and 100,000.[10] The total number of witch trials in Europe which are known for certain to have ended in executions is around 12,000. whenever people bring up salem as a form of american religious zealotry, I point ot to them...

Bad_Karma: SpicyChicken_SoCal: If we ruled only by majority, we would still be burning so called witches in Salem We didn't burn any witches in Salem moron. That is true. In Colonial America witchcraft was a felony punishable by hanging (except for Giles Corey who was crushed to death for refusing to plead guilty), but in Europe it was considered heresy and ...

Well ambercat, I did NOT say your beliefs were stupid. That is so frustrating to me that people have to cry foul and insist they are being insulted when someone is posting their opinions. Suffer not a witch to live. I actually SAW that posted on THIS board!! I can not believe it. I am still in shock. When fundamentalism turns to fanatacism I don't find it stupid. I find it frightening...

Cotton Mather? I could find little about his creation of public schools. But his name rings a bell... The belief in witches and witchcraft was widespread in 1692 New England. One of the most ardent believers was Cotton Mather, a respected Boston minister who wrote on many religious topics. Mather

27. "Victor" (1979) Album: Eat to the Beat I'm not a whore, I dance no more I'll be with you across the border What an opus this is, it seems to come out of nowhere on the incredibly consistent Eat to the Beat album. It's a chaotic and frenzied tune that never grows tired, because it's extremely unique in Blondie's discography. There doesn't seem to be any clear or specific ...

Electric Sheep: We have not had problems with Witches in this country for hundreds of years because of the Salem Witch Trials. Those trials showed the Witches that we knew how to deal with them. With the rise of the flakey fake-witchcraft known as Wicca, might not the witches get the wrong idea, and think it is safe for them to come out of hiding. This can not happen. We need to stop the ...
