I don't know if you guys remember that we had to give away one of our dogs a few months ago... he didn't take the move well and was barking a lot, stealing the kids' toys and growling... We found him a home and he was happy, with two other dogs and three children. I found out today that he died a month ago in his sleep... He was only 5, and they don't know how he died (they didn't even tell me...

A friend since high school and a coworker of Barney for years, just lost a son. Her 2 boys were walking along the side of the road and were hit by a car. One son died, one is in the hospital still, but expected to survive. Her sons were just a few years younger than my daughters. My heart breaks for her. Sad news is so hard to hear at anytime, but seems a lot harder to understand and bear during ...

My grandfather died on Sunday, today is the funeral. He was my last living grand parent. He was my mom's father and was 94 (good genes!). He and I were not super close, I was much closer to my grand mother who passed away 10 years ago. I'm oddly not super sad for me, but more for my mother and my aunt. We're Jewish and like most other cultures...

Andre Dawkins is taking a leave of absences from the Duke team, as his older sister died over the weekend in a car crash. Events like what his family is going through remind us of what is more important than basketball. Prayers for him and his family. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=472303 7

I just heard that Jack Gartside passed away last night from cancer. Jack was one of a kind. A very passionate fly fisherman and tyer. I was fortunate to have a chance to speak with him at the Bears Den show this past February. He had just completed chemo then and was on the mend. I don't think there is a fly fisherman who hasn't heard of or used his Gartside Gurgler. I had myself just ...

It's with great regret that I have to report that Harry Brunnhoelzl, the man behind Grouse Ridge Shooting Grounds in Wasilla has passed away. This comes just two weeks after his son, Harry Brunnhoelzl III also passed. Please keep Arlene in your condolences. To lose her husband and father-in-law within two weeks must be devastating. Here's a picture of Harry in better ...

Some of you will remember me telling you about and keeping you up-to-date on my friends little boy, Little David, who was born with Down's Syndrome and had Leukemia. He had been in remission for the past two years until 3 weeks ago when he started having pain in his legs. They received news from the doctor on Thursday that he had 3 tumors on his spine and it was in-operable and that he wouldn't...

The day came that I officially took the A4 off the road and registered it only as an âoff roadâ vehicle. It will be very boring from now on not to be able to drive it every day. To replace the A4 as a daily driver and to get it to the track I ended up buying a 2003 Ford F-150 with the V8 4.6L motor. It is a RWD model with a locked diff so it is not too bad in the snow. It ...
