Hello, I was given a Pavilion ze4430us laptop by my friend. I had to do a restore due to numerous hang issues, personal information on hard drive, and slow system speed. I ordered the quickrestore system recovery cd with Windows XP home SP1 directly from HP. When the first restore set of disks arrived, I attempted to restore the computer, but the computer would start ...

I had problems with my Compaq F700 where at boot up it would state that no OS could be found. I replaced the hard drive figuring it might have gone bad and ordered a set of recovery CD's from HP and they seem to install fine. When the computer prompts me for the "Application and Driver Recovery CD" it fails recovery every time. Keep in mind I have the Vista screen on the computer ...

A quick question - I have reinstalled windows xp many times on many pc's after wiping drives over the years. I have never done it on a laptop or with windows vista. I notice that the cd states 'product recovery' and not like xp a 'reinstallation cd with xp on it'. Does the product recovery cd include a full copy of vista and the various drivers or exactly what is the cd. The ...

Hi, I have a toshiba a210 laptop. Got the error 0x0000034, did the research and downloaded the 64bit torrent file for the Windows Vista Recovery cd. I burned the ISO to disc successfully. When I try to boot the laptop I can hear it engaging the dvd but nothing happens - then it comes back to the original error mentioned above. basically its not booting even though I have it set to boot from ...
My PC recently hanged and through online chat I was told that my HD is having bad sectors. I was advised to quickly get a replacement either on my own or through the local agent. Only after I bought a new HD that I found out that my Windows Vista cannot create a recovery CD for me. I immediately contacted the HP tech support to get a set of recovery CD since I have never created one. ...

Son's HP Pavillion Hard Drive Failed. Laptop is less than 2 years old, but out of warranty. We've replaced hard drives before, but never one from a third party manufacturing, although I believe I should be able to do this without a problem. I found where I can buy a hard drive online for a good price; I can order the HP recovery disks for under $15.00. However, the HP tech advised that ...

> The one in question is a Compaq Evo 410. Over the last few years, I've had occasion to restore the hard drives on several Compaq systems for people. In 3 or 4 cases, I've gotten a copy of the original Compaq restore/recovery CD sets from a place called Computer Surgeons. In each case, I think the CDs were $27 plus shipping. If they happens to have one for your model, that's a ...

Glad to hear it! If you have the Recovery Media (CD/ DVD) you should have NO issue. Except what I posted earlier about the Security Protection and some Office programs. I would do the reinstall using the Media (CD/DVD) roms you have. Then post back if you are prompted to reactivate certain programs (Office, Security like Virus Protection and Malware). Bill

When you power up the system, the 1st screen you see is the BIOS splash screen. Somewhere on it will be instructions on how to enter the BIOS setup utility (press "del" or some other key depending on the chipset firmware.) Once you're in there, you'll find yourself in a very simple 1980's-style environment. Navigate around with keyboard arrow keys to the Boot section. It will probably be a ...

With all respect, I do not see why you think HP owes you free recover CDs. I think even you agree that you should have created a recovery CD but whether you did or didn't does not have anything to do with being charged for it. If you had still been under warranty they would have replaced the HDD and reinstalled all the original software for you but sadly you were not. Why would you or I...
