best places to buy new/rebuilt engines

I have decided to replace the blown engine in my 94 cv interceptor. I want to weigh the options and the costs of those options. Were do you guys recommend I should potentially buy rebuilt / new engines from?? I have heard good things about Jasper, but they are more expensive than others. I have no idea where to look for new...? Who have you guys used in the past, and who do you recommend?...

Okay, that's good. So if the engine itself dies but everything else is good, sounds like I can replace it with any year prior to my vehicle's build date. Cool.

Ebay seller of rebuilt engines

What do you guys think of this seller? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3 AIT He has quite a few rebuilt engines listed. 396's, 427's, 402 & even a 425hp 409. He mentions crate engine although they are not. Anyone know anything about this guy? I would like the 402 for $3,495 for my 72 Chevelle! Alot cheaper going this route rather than an actual "crate" 454 ...

WOW, I could NEVER get tired of a 1970 Chevelle SS LS6! 1970 was a fine looking year for the Chevelle. That is alot of money though. That might change things but I'll never know. Way out of my league...

Okay, I have 91 Civic that I'm going to have to eventually get a new engine for because it burns about a 4 quarts a week as my daily driver. I'm looking for reliability and longevity, and my question is will a rebuilt engine be just as strong as a factory engine?

I have a leak on my front rotors coolant seal and am looking at options for a rebuild. I can't do it myself as this happened at a bad time and I just can't make time for the whole rebuild myself so I am looking at some various options that don't include me tearing down the core. Personally i think if an engine was rebuilt professionally with receipts it would defiantly raise the value but with no receipts or it was done by owner then i would skip the car and find another....
