This is driving me crazy. My PC runs great, but there is obviously an issue with the drivers for Realtek and Win 7. Sometimes I have sound, sometimes I don't. You just never know. The initial problem was no sound on audio cds. The computer did have other system sounds. I uninstalled Realtek drivers and downloaded from computer website and reinstalled. Still same problem.
