hi, go to control panel>>volume control set the headphones as "default device" and it should work. cheers

HI your configuration is not 5.1 its quadraphonic speakers in 5.1 totally contains 5 speakers and a sub woofer yours is   quadraphonic so set the settings for that  and you cannot make woofer as a speaker and you may not need the the external sound card make the setting to   quadraphonic and test for it... hope it helps NIKHIL
