Hi. I installed 7 on release day, but when I installed the realtek HD drivers (aledgedly a windows 7 compatible driver) I only got audio from the lefthand channel. It's definatley not a hardware issue as both channels play fine on XP. Anybody know where I can find the correct driver?

I recently updated to Windows 7 64-bit after using XP 32-bit for years. Previously I was using the Realtek driver HD 5.10.0.5506, audio codec ALC883, and the sounds levels were fine. However since moving to Windows 7, and downloading the most recent 2.35 HD driver, the volume levels have been very inconsistent. The computer in question is an iMac from the previous generation (Radeon 2400). I noticed some other people having problems with external speakers, and I think I've pretty much figured out that the Realtek driver thinks the headphone jack on this computer is an input. Anyone have a solution besides rolling back?...

No the mic boost just makes the quality worse and yes the microphone is a quality microphone it worked great on Windows XP. The sound is turned up all the way and the recording correct device is set as default and the correct playback device is set correctly as well. It has to be something with the driver or some kind of Windows 7 bug and I have no control over that only you the company ...

Okay, the last action I took did not stick and the volume went very low. There was no static or noise in the music and video files, when played, but the volume was too low to enjoy or understand at times. From there I rebooted a few times with the volume coming back with the noise, static, lag. Now it's back to low volume.
