I may be wrong, but there were radial aircraft engines where the cylinders rotated around a crankshaft that was fixed. On all radial engines the props had to be rotated before starting them to prevent piston lock-up. When they sat for awhile, oil would fill up the pistons on the bottom. I also ride a BMW motorcycle. Many of these bikes have had over a million miles put on them.
