I have a PowerMac G4 Digital Audio that a friend gave me because it doesn't work. It has an Apple 17" monitor connected to it using the ADC connector. Plugging everything in and pressing the power button gets me a startup chime and the hard drive starting to spool up, then it dies. If I disconnect the monitor it doesn't stop but after a 10 or 15 seconds all I hear is the internal fan and...

I've picked up a 400mhz G4 Powermac for 15 dorra, all it needed was some ram and a new PSU (modded an ATX one to suit). I've got it running OS 9.2.1, and when I get around to it I'll whack OSX on as well, but for now I'm looking for some classic mac goodness. So to my questions: Do the older Macs have issues with big drives? If I move to OSX can I expect many PCI cards to work with it? Is...

Be careful, even some Gainward 7800gs Bliss without the '+' are G71 cores. The only way to tell is with a PC software utility or actually looking at the Die on the card.

I decided to go ahead with the repair (around $160 for the part plus shipping) because of the substantial investment ...
