Neither are eatx motherboards (common misconception on the web) as they are standard atx length, just 1 inch wider (so closer to CEB form factor) and still contain the standard atx holes. If it was an eatx board the dimensions would be slightly larger there ...

Thanks, I was going to pick up the DX but it requires a 4-pin floppy power connector and a PCI express 1x slot. My only 1x slot is blocked by my video card. I picked up the Xonar D1 instead... it uses a PCI slot and doesn't need the connector. $61.99 after rebate http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Pro...ce lebros

Will it encode DD over the optical connection in Windows 7? This would be used to output in full surround sound to either my receiver or the logitech z-5500. I will be willing to purchase one but my X-Fi Platinum (not Titanium) is absolutely worthless in Vista (I assume Windows 7 as well) since it only outputs in stereo. EDIT: After reading reviews on newegg, I'm going to pass. ...

I've picked out 2 Xonar cards: ASUS Xonar DX 7.1 Channels PCI Express Interface Sound Card - Retail and ASUS Xonar D1 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Card - Retail Their prices are virtually the same, can anyone comment on the differences between these cards? Which is recommended over the other and why?
