Well, since I am working on my Freeview setup now, and discovered that my what should be DVB-S card is a DVB-T card...I need a proper DVB-S PCI card to get Freeview Digital. I've been looking at recommendations on this website aswell as others, but I could only find things from 2008 and I think things have changed since then. I need a DVB-S PCI (not ...

Is there anything that is PCI/e, has dual DVB-T, and A/V-in? Preferably it would also have; Component-in, be dual Hybrid, and various hardware encode options, but I wouldn't expect all of that to work well at this stage. Is the HVR-2200 the best option, has anyone come across something just as capable that's also got good driver dev? Cheers

I recently was gifted with such card also, but it comes with 2nd PCB, which is marked "PC 400940 C.S". You can see picture of it in attachment. it has RF OUT jack and DC IN jack. Connects to main 2030 card via upper connector. Considering the shielded part side and thickness, I think this is uplink card for DVB-S internet.Maybe someone has some info on this?

Well basically what I want is to tune channels and if this channel are located in another satellite then the Diseqc command should move the dish to that desired satellite. So using a STB will make me change first the channel on the PCI dvb card and then tell the STB to move the satellite

Itselläni siis MSI Digivox II DVB-T eli antennivastaanottoon tarkoitettu USB Digi-tv vastaanotin. TAMPERE

I don't necessarily want to record. Just watch. How long have you had it? And michaelt, Hauppauge HVR3000 for 140 brand new. Could you tweak the price a little? Sometimes what you don't get it a blessing in disguise!

If someone wants a lot more challenge and is ready to buy Linux based AZBox STB for that matter, would you consider looking at a DVB-S2 PCI(e) or USB Sat Tuner as your next project instead? It may be a lot more challenging and involving exercise giving plenty of enjoyment, when the relevant tasks get learned, planned and accomplished.
We have an additional subforum dealing with PCI and USB receivers. Free to Air PC DVB Discussion - SatelliteGuys.US You might tiptoe through there for some relevant info. I tried USB for my first receiver... it was a nightmare. Then, I tried a PCI for my second. The nightmare continued. Then, I got a stand alone receiver and the lights went on. Tuning up a dish, tracking the arc, ...
