I started a new post in September and have now found out that my current school are not sure if I am on the right payscale. If you know about these things please advise me. My bursar does not seem too clued up (she told me NQT means Not Qualified Teacher and that the year after your NQT year you should be paid MPS1) Year 1: I did a GTP (Paid at £18, 000) Year 2: I did PPA cover and...

These are the things they never teach you in University... so in deciding between taking either 1 job or 2 jobs, I totally forgot to ask about payscale. I've called back and the principal is to return my call. I feel dumb that I didn't ask this earlier but the whole time I was only thinking about the opportunity. Now I awkwardly need to bring it up.... Advice??

Hey, just thought I'd share this website if people haven't heard of it. Shows you if you're being paid well for your job, how much you should ask for in a job interview etc. Kinda interesting - I'm getting paid the same as my last job, but a different job title, so now I'm being paid really well for the work that I'm doing apparently!

I'm working abroad on a customer site for the past couple of months. Expenses etc make it quite a little earner, especially "in these recessionary times". Anyway.. now they're looking for someone to stay here over the christmas holidays, which will involve some days working, and some days on call. As I'm several thousand miles from home, there is no way I'll even make it home for christmas day...

Hi I was just looking at the IMOs website and noticed the payscale is different for SHOs and registrars, which in all my ignorance I thought was the same thing. Can someone tell me the difference, and when I finish an internship someday, will I be an SHO or registrar? If so what needs to be done to get promoted to the higher paying one? Also where does getting an MD fit into all of this?

Payscale is not the same, they get a 7500dhs a month cost of living adjustment allowance. Which came about 3 or 4 years ago. What they get is not an issue, what we don't get is.

Quoting FlyDeltaJets87 ( Reply 112 ): I will take you up on this one and tell you that the US Military is one of those professions. We are one of the highest trained professions, with some of the most expensive training cost). (Example: $2.6 million to train a fighter pilot. $600,000 for heavy pilots ). Our job is also subject to some of the highest responsibility AND the ...

It's a good opportunity for people who would like the cpd and some more responsibility without going down the DHT/HT route. The training looks really good and if you were already interested in doing a masters this would be a way of getting started. The one in our LA has 5 days a year at weekends (including 1 residential) and the self-study is supposed to link in with work you are doing ...
