All these stories on delaying screenings/cutting down the number of screenings just sound like insurance companies trying to get out of paying for preventative care for women.

I too had a hysterectomy. I would hate to know that under social medicine I would have had to wait. I surely would have bled to death had it not been taken care of immediately.

I am 24 years old and have never had a pap smear test. I am not sexually active (I am waiting til I get married) nor have I had any female problems down there. So, should I still need to go to a OBGYN doctor or can I still wait?

I also have high risk HPV and a family history of cervical cancer. I've had 3 pap test come back as precancerous cells over the last 10 years. I made my new OB aware of that when I called to make my appt with them, and they didn't seem to concerned with it. I'm sure my dr(as with yours) will just monitor you throughout your pregnancy. Good Luck to you
