If so disregard. If not, then why isnt this utilized like in the oldschool Shooto/Pankration days? A hard solid open hand slap to the ear would be disorienting for a second and could open the guy up to a takedown or even followed up for a KO.

Dear True Fight Fans, This is a latter coming from a concerned fighting aficionado, someone who considers himself somewhat knowledgeable in the fight game. I'm an amateur boxer and would love to explore other aspects of martial arts, maybe one day trying my hand at some pankration tournaments (amatuer mma in canada). When I'm not being a dad, I'm boning up on the various aspects of the fight...

I don't understand the point of putting this move in Pankration at all. It is the hardest to hit with, one of the hardest to train up, has the highest pre-reqs in the game yet does mediocre damage and is notable for how incredibly plain it is all-around. I know the questions have been asked before, but I'm hoping they might be answered this time to put the issue to rest: Why is ...

QUOTE(JeffG @ Feb 5 2010, 10:47 AM) How may UFC, IFC, Pancrase, and Pankration victors have you had a part in training? Guys I've trained with that won in the UFC... 4, maybe 5. Probably another 1 or 2 that were one loss and out of the UFC. We're a smaller gym but do pretty well. I've also trained with many pro division winners in grapplers quests*, black belt division (still ...

Quote: I am confused, are you arguing it is a mechanically balanced skillset or more of an RP skillset? Both which have places in this game but your post seems to contradict itself. When we first started chatting you basically talked crap on the skillset for quite some time, why the 180 now? I don't recall a time when I've ever talked trash about ...

Here is his other match: (No mention of this in the report and the fighter was fine then next day and never went to the hospital) YouTube - Pankration Duals: 90 kilos - Undisputed vs Camp Pendleton Here is the other match that was used to justify regulation by CAMO. It was reported that the match was halted by a huge cut. (But not that the cut was caused by a armbar ...

QUOTE(Pseudonymous @ Feb 2 2010, 10:21 PM) The ude-garami was even used by Greeks in pankration. Well, I think some catch wrestlers believe that CACC is connected historically with pancration. I believe that that's what Billy means when he says wrestling is thousands of years old. Gotch calls his style pancrase: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWZcEMnd78s...featu re=related...
