It started in the middle of the night and the pain woke me up.What could this be? It doesn't hurt right now, only once in awhile. I had this pain last year every now and then, and it stopped. But last night was painful. It doesn't hurt right now.

if it is ucler you can ask for something called sulcralate which is a liquid that you drink around 3 times a day. You drink only about 5 mls of it. It coats your ulcers and speeds healing and helps to reduce pain. My doctor told me it acts like a bandaid. Your body doesn't absorb it at all so it is well tolerated. good luck
