Is it normal?

I have noticed that on my left nipple I have a yellowish scab. That nipple also seems to be more sensitive then my right nipple. It has not fallen off and its been like 2 weeks. Any ideas?

I had this before I gave birth to my first child. I just sat in a bath and it feel off but I never had any tenderness with it. sorry

My son is 12 days old and has been nursing fine since day 1.  I noticed today I have callus or scab type thing on my nipple.  I tried to get it off while in the shower, but its totally attached and I dont want to rip it off....obvious reasons.... I just dont want him to swallow or choke on it... advice??  Thanks Mindy Mom to AJ born 10/8!!

Hi everyone - this is my first visit into the breastfeeding forum! My baby is 12 days old and feeding perefctly from my right breast (it is such a joy to feed her) but my left nipple is basicaly one big scab - which she takes off each time she feeds, making me bleed and hurting so much. I dread feeding off of this breast. I am adamant i will not give up BFing as I love it so much with my good ...
