I have a Netgear wireless USB adapter model WG121 that will not work with Windows Vista Ultimate. It worked just fine with Windows XP. Does any one know if there's an updated driver for Vista? If not please give a suggestion for a USB wireless adapter that will work good with Windows Vista Ultimate. Thanks much!

Hi Mate I think that the first thing is to upgrade the firmware on the laptop. You can get the correct firmware from the Netgear page, you select your model and it will give you the latest firmware version. You will need to go into 192.168.0.1 as Admin and password to upgrade the firmware. On another note, have you tried rebooting the router or reset to factory settings? Or is it ...

I turned off ZoneAlarm Extreme Security Suite (so no AV or firewall) and verified that Windows Firewall was off (which it was). When I went to Advanced sharing settings, network discovery was already turned on. I then manually reset the TCP/IP stack (after running cmd as administrator) and rebooted. No change. I cannot access the internet with IE8 or Firefox. I have internet access through ...

I'm not an expert, but I believe I can offer you some help other than a copy/paste generic answer. I don't know WHO the problem lies with - Mircrosoft or Netgear. I have my suspicions though. Vista doesn't seem to want to play nice with the Netgear software. The trick is to bypass the Netgear software and just install the drivers...something Netgear doesn't make easy. Here's what I did: I ...

'K, very specific technical question here: Netgear MR814 Wireless Router, with the 4.14 Firmware Update. It's working just fine with the laptop as a wired router, and I've set it up with a name, password and everything. The signal's strong, which considering I'm 2 feet away from it it really ought to be, and my Laptop (HP Pavilion dv5, Vista 64 Bit Home Entertainment System) sees it....
