Good, so next year I can count on having Christmas off with out any form of retailiation by my company? Even if I don't have enough seniority to get it off? Or because it's a Christian Holiday it won't matter I'll bet. Whole new can of worms just got opened here.

Judged: 1 If you take a job with any company that works around the clock, then you should be prepared to work the hours you are scheduled regardless of religious beliefs. My husband has some muslims working for him and they want to stop during work hours to pray, he said fine as long as you punch out and punch back in when your done, HR was afraid of getting sued, so they get paid to...

Hey everyone, I had a question about Regional Elite, the ground handling spin off of Comair, Mesaba, and technically Compass. When stations started consolidating due to the merger, I always heard that cities where DL or NW mainline employees were present, they would take over for any regional handlers like Comair, Mesaba, Pinnacle, etc, etc. It's obvious DTW has mainline NW staff and I ...

If you see a Mesaba CRJ-900 parked at a gas station looking for directions it's probably my fault because I screwed the FMS up. Starting IOE today. Hope it's more eventful than the Sim. Missing my left seat but looking forward to trying out Trip7's, supposed, "jet world". I don't know if the jet and world are supposed to be capitalized when I write that, or if I should be genuflecting. ...

ines totaling $175,000 were levied Tuesday against three airlines involved in the stranding of dozens of ExpressJet passengers overnight on the tarmac in Rochester aboard a regional airliner in August. The federal fines, agreed to by Continental, ExpressJet and Mesaba, are the first for any carrier for lengthy tarmac delays. The Department of Transportation fined Continental Airlines and ...

Quoting LAXintl ( Reply 98 ): Not according to the law, I cannot imagine that a law allows an employee to use their religion as a reason to not do their job. Of course, an employer should try to make reasonable accommodations, but (having worked in a place that had this issue) is not required to, especially if doing so would place an undue hardship on the company. ...

Quoting Saab2000 ( Reply 52 ): 1. Most of the Avros at Mesaba were replaced by CRJ-900s, not -200s. I agree that the Avros were comfortable. They were also thirsty. Thirsty for both fuel and maintenance. But it took awhile for them to be replaced with the 900s. The Avros were gone in what ... 2006? The 900s didn't start flying until the end of 2008, I think?

There's no conceivable reason someone should be stuck on a plane that's just sitting on the tarmac for hours on end. They should be allowed to de-plane after a reasonable amount of time. Period. If it's an act of nature, well, then the airline needs to reschedule the flight. http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/58865 Washington (AP) - Stinky toilets, crying babies, ...

I would say that working on the ground probably won't get you hired much faster, but in general it helps to get you hired eventually. I worked the ramp for United Feeder Service and Mesaba from 1993-1998. I also flight instructed at the same airport. It was a good fit. I built flying experience and airline experience at the same time. I think it helps a lot to be a good airline pilot to know ...
