What group is this oil? How well is it liked? I thought of changing over from PP and extend drain intervals to 10k.

Quote: Rightly so, since this is proprietary information. I have a slightly different take on it. Sure, it's their right to keep their cards close to their chest, but anyone who could really do something with the information (the limited information that we're looking for here) would have the means to determine it on their own. Chevron, Castrol, Shell. XOM has a good choke point on the ...

I don't like using lots of time to perform maintenance, that is why my tranny is filled with Mobil 1. I bought Mobil 1 EP 5W30 and want to use it for as long as possible in my 97 Avalon. Problem is...this engine is a known sludger and from seeing other UOA posts it really KILLS the oil in short order-in about 4k miles or so, the TBN is almost 0. What mileage do you think is safe to run Mobil 1 EP...

Hello everyone, Here is UOA Number 10, with particle counts and TBN. Note that this UOA is the same "batch" of oil, as well as the same oil filter, as was reported on July 23, 2009, only now, I have taken that oil/filter combination out to 10K miles. Here are my comments - I welcome yours as well. 1) Clearly we see an example here of how non-linear the decrease in TBN is. The first UOA on ...

Quote: They only recommend you use them for the OEM OCI now per the TSB. Yes ..but it should be obvious "why". Under this service it's not an issue for either the M1 or the EaO. The miles are mostly hollow. Put the same vehicle in a ONE YEAR 10k mile environment and it might not work out so well. Toyotas must be very dirty warm up engines. That is, Amsoil cannot market this across ...

I have read both of the backs of Edge ad EP. Even though they are advertising it to go up to 15K, this exclude SEVERE DRIVING CONDITIONS. And yet, Mobil 1 did a field test in Las Vegas(where I live). The cabs (you know how these engines are beaten) do 15K OCI. Try watching from www.mobil1.com.

I went to purchase a Mobil 1 EP filter at Napa the other day for my Wifes Bravada and I blow into the filters to make sure the ADBV is sealing correctly because Bravada's have a horizontally mounted external filter and I found 4 leakers before I found one that seals correctly...is this a common problem with Mobil 1 filters? I usually run Dino oil and Napa Gold filters for 5,000 miles and never ...

I wanted to compare the 5w30 EP to the Truck/Suv 5w30 and here are the results. All other samples were the M1 TSUV. I use a Mobil 1 filter. Lead was high. I discovered a loose clamp on my K&N intake that was not making a good seal where the cone filter meets the intake. I think that is what caused the high lead. So if anyone was curious as to how these compare, hopefully this helps. I also...

I purchased M1 EP with the filter and they gave it to me for $30. So it must depend on the store. They are out of the filter for my car. As soon as they have new stock, I am going back to get more.
