So what do you guys think? I know that the 0w40 is BMW approved but the 5w40 has more wear properties in the oil and I believe it will be better on the track. So what do you guys think?

Have had Mobil 1 5W-30 Extended Performance "M" in a Sentra SER with 2.5L 4 cylinder, usually found in the much larger, heavier Altima. Engine produces maximum torque at only 2800rpm. Extended Performance Mobil 1 with Mobil 1 filter is supposed to be good for up to 15,000 miles. Just turned 10,000 miles on the oil and it is still translucent on the dipstick, but not clear. It appears to be very ...

Okay, I did do a search on here, and didn't quite get the answers I was hoping for, or maybe I didn't look hard enough. I am running Mobil 1 Synthetic 5w-30 right now. I have tried the German Castrol and my engine didn't like that at all. So, my question is, would Mobil 1 Synthetic 0w-30 be a wise choice? Winters in Salt Lake get very cold, and I was reading on that the thinner the oil, ...

So my land rover had always been serviced at the dealer when I got it. After much searching on here... I changed the oil about 2500 miles ago with Rotella 15w-40 and a mobil 1 301 filter. I noticed that the truck has now started to leak at the filter. Not that much maybe a drop a day coming from the end of the filter. So a week ago I just figured that I didnt tighten it up enough. So I ...

PureOne oil filter used. The two oil changes before this one were Mobil 1 also. Enjoy. JEFF: The only finding out of line with averages, and keeping this from being a perfect report, was copper at 11 ppm. While higher than average, this much copper isn't enough to get us overly concernced. It could just be from a temporary anomaly, but we'll watch it next time. Other metals were nice nd low, ...

I've been thinking about using the ESP (Emissions system protection) version of the M1 synthetic 5w30 instead of the standard M1 synthetic or M1 extended perf 5w30. The reason is not for the better protection of the emissions controls (cats, 02 sensors) as advertised by M1 but more due to the ESP formulation holding an HTHS rating of ACEA A3 which is higher than on the other synthetic ...

So I ran Mobil 1 10w-30 in my 1995 honda civic ex for 4500 miles with a Fram high mileage oil filter. My car has 147,000 miles so the high mileage filter made sense to me. Little did I know how horrible Fram oil filters are. So without further a do, here is it taken apart (sorry for the horrible picture quality): Filter material with cheap cardboard ends: Disgusting ball of goop I ...

I was curious about the pour point of this oil,so I e-mailed Mobil to ask them what it is on this particular oil.I got a response (which I cant find in my mail)that it`s close to -60 degrees.Does this sound possible to you guy`s? I think their regular Synthetic 5W-30 is -48 degrees.
