Has anyone's dogs had this? How long of treatment before you see the results/improvement? Cocoa is receiving the injections. Cocoa is currently being treated for this as a last ditch effort before she sees her "specialist" and gets her allergy testing in October. Kira had a bit of mange on one ear when we adopted her. At her first check up the vet gave her a big dose of a flea med (that also helps treat mange). Luckily it cleared up really soon after that without further treatment. Mange in Dogs

I hear conflicting opinions on this matter. while some say it hereditary (genes/ dna). others say the dog has weak immune system due to malnutrition, stress or poor hygeine. I want to know what you all have to say on this matter.

Off the subject....Mange in dogs I am pretty sure my dog has mange. It is a spot on her back about 7 inches long and about 1-2 inches wide. It is like gewy (yellowish green) and smells horrible. She is starting to lose spots of hair. Has anyone had any experience with mange. Or home treatments? Any info will help me out. BTW she ...

I adopted a dog from the shelter, and she developed a spot on her chin where the fur fell out and it got a little scaly. Turned out to be mange - can't remember which one but it was the kind the mother dog gives to the puppies (she was a puppy). The vet did a skin scrape to diagnose and then she got a sulphur bath I think?? at the vet. It cleared up very quickly never to return....

Well we took a trip to the Vet today and they did a skin scrape which came back negative. The doctor was pretty sure it wasn't mange and thinks that he might have gotten nicked at the groomer which caused a staph infection since he's been chewing and scratching on it.
