I am new at having two macs in the house and was wondering what the consequence of having the same user name on both macs were. I used migration assistant to set up the new mac and both are identical including user names. They both share the same network and internet connection. I guess the reason I ask is because Chronosync keeps crashing when I try to set up a bydirectional sync of ...

The update didnt fix all machines, it seemed dependant on which manufacturer actually built the physical keyboard and interface, not the firmware ... the fix did repair roughly 2/3 of my machines in the last year, but I have a few which are hard to pull off the line and send them back again for repairs and an upper structure/keyboard change

Just wanted to say I got it working just fine! Thanks for all the help. I searched for turning it into a switch, which was just turning off DHCP or something, and then making sure that the powerline was plugged into port 1, not the WAN/LAN port, and then everything else hooked up to 2-4. Seems to work fine, those machines can connect to the ...

Follow up on the chronosync crash. I emailed support and the tech guy told me to upgrade to 10.6.2 and try again. Sure enough that cleared up the crasher.

Hey, I've been doing a similar thing recently. Have you tried importing either through home sharing on itunes or just transferring what you need by accessing the other MacBook if you mount it in your shared places? Takes a while wirelessly but should get it done..... I think! Various...

I have to correct myself.... from what I understand in using itunes to date it does not manually/automatically sync between the two machines. For example, If you enable sharing on the mac used for media and on a mac you use for itunes you can move or share music between the two. One feature of iTunes 9. is it will keep track of what music you have moved across. There is a setting ...

Hello, I have a similiar situation. We have a powerpc mac and am looking to purchase a new intel mac. We would like to tie the two macs together and utilize the processing power of the new mac. The idea is that I could keep editing on the new mac and let the second mac continue to render or at the very least have it converting the files for dvds using Compressor. I can start a ...
