I'm only 6wks w/ my 3rd child. My progesterone is very low, started Prometrium 3 days ago. Still spotting w/ mild back pain. Just needing some encouragement from anyone who has experienced this. Thanks! I'm new to this community. Blessings, oklahomamom4him

Has anyone heard that birth control using it over the years can cause low progesterone?? Or problems with fertility?? I was on the pill for round 9-10years...and I was just wonderin if anyonehas heard anything bout it...??

I am just over 8 weeks and my doctor called me today with the test results. She said my progesterone level is at 13.7. She is putting me 2 doses of progesterone twice a day until week 12. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

Hi everyone, I recently had a miscarriage (11/4/09) and just found out I am preg again on 12/6/09. I went to the dr and had some bloodwork done. 12/7 hcg 36 and prog 6.7 12/9 hcg 47 and they didn't test prog The dr put me on a prog supplement 12/10. My experience...I had low progesterone w/ a 10-12 day LP. I also supplemented w/ progesterone cream sometimes. 2 previous times I was pregnant (1 ended in m/c)...I had cramping and spotting during implantation. Then I got pregnant while I was nursing DD1. I am also on a low dose of prometruim once a day, my doctor gave me the option of using it since low progesterone levels are linked to miscarriage, so since I miscarried back in may I decided to take the medicine and have some security and mind ease.

That totally stinks. I've been through it time and time again so I know how much it stinks. I agree with adgal, this is the time to pamper yourself. Next time will be the one that sticks I just know it :) Be sure to stay in touch!

Chelsea thisis also another option. If you can't get any cooperation for a while you can go to a health food store and get topical progesterone. make sure you read all lables though. I think you are supposed to get the ones derives from yams.. A lot of the ladies know a whole lot about it. If you put a post out there you are bound to get answers.

Hmm... now I'm 15 weeks and supplementing once a day with suppositories, and once a day with prometrium. With that my progesterone is at 28. I'm hoping it goes up in the next week or so. Lisa

You will need progesterone...it comes in an oral form, vaginal suppository form, vaginal cream, and shot form. If you aren't Oing you will need help to produce eggs and O...most common first step is Clomid. I am sure your DR will talk to you about everything...if it is just that you aren't Oing that is a simple fix compared to other problems.
