So, apparently i have a low lying placenta. The doctor explained that the placenta is usually above the baby but mine is low, almost above my cervix. He said at this point we shouldn't worry, just avoid sex :( and don't do any jumping or strenous activities. Is anyone else dealing with this now or have dealt with this before?

So I was diagnosed with a partial placenta previa at my 20 week ultrasound. We did a follow up at 30 weeks and it was still there so they had me do an ultrasound with a perianatologist (sp?) today - 34 weeks 6 days and my placenta is 1 cm in the cervical opening. I do not want to have to get a csection but I know I have to do whatever is best for my LO. My dr is still telling me there is a ...

Hello ladies (and new babies!) Just popped over from mums due april 10 to ask whether any of you had experience of a low lying placenta on 20 week scan and whether it moved or not? My placenta is apparently just over the cervix and I'm a bit worried (despite being firmly told not to be!). Would love to hear experiences. Good luck to you all Pisco & Boo 21wks

I found out yesterday that I have a low lying placenta. Has anyone had this in previous pregnancies and had the placenta move up toward the end? I'm hoping for no placenta previa! I go back in for another u/s in a month to see if it has moved up at all. Any experience or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

I did a search on this topic. I found woman saying they were told that they had a low placenta and needed another u/s to see if it has moved up. So where are all you ladies at? I was told I had a low placenta from my 20 week u/s. I have another one scheduled for this coming Thursday. Just wondering where you others with low placentas are at, and how are things going for you?

Anyone had experience with having a low lying placenta at 35w? Did it move eventually? My OB said there's till time for it to move. I just do not want to have a c-section. My other 2 deliveries were vaginal and I would like to have this one vaginal as well. Also, with the new hospital rule of not allowing kids to visit, I don't want to be in the hospital too long. My Dr. just called me to tell me that they found that my placenta is low lying. He put me on pelvic rest and told me that we would be getting another ultrasound in a couple of months. He didn't give me any other restrictions and said that there is a good chance it will move up. I was wondering if anyone else has been diagnosed with a low lying placenta and what your Drs told you. I 'm not ...

I was told nothing not even after my 34 week scan reference what not to do apart from not to do too much, not have sex and ring for an ambulance if I started bleeding! I was booked for section at 38+1 and had a massive bleed at 37+6 and had emergency section that day! Turns out the blood was just from behind the placenta as ...

Hiya, All quite normal! Honestly. Still time for placenta to move and if it doesn't then they will keep an eye on you and talk through your options. My friend had it all way through her pregnancy and her daughter was fine.

Replying to: low lying placenta I feel your pain about not wanting to wait for an emergency c-section. I'm not sure what the best thing is. My placenta moved away from the cervix the one time I had a low placenta. Sorry I'm not much help in this area. Maybe there is still enough time for it to move out of the way? I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter at all where it is as long as it's ...
