I have a friend with a GMC Envoy (2003ish, I believe) and she wants extra keys and key fobs. now for the keys, just take the VIN to a GM dealer and get a set ground for 5 bucks, right? (got a set ground for 5 bucks before on a 95 C/K, so it should be in the ballpark) But the big question is the Fobs, who has to program those? can i get some from ebay and program them myself?

$12 shipped a piece. use'em to make a usb stick or something. They do both work though So I have decided to part the car out and move onto greener pastures. So far it is between a 20th, a MK1 225Q TT and a MK5. Either way all this stuff has to go. I will not be giving discounts for multiple purchases. All the prices are marked w/ their shipping qoutes and are firm for the time being. If...

I have to use my key to unlock the car before I can open the door. So what is the problem with that someone will ask. Well, I use to open it by pressing the button on the key remote and the car doors would unlock. This has now failed on both sets of keys. I have tried various re-programming suggestions based on the Octavia and Fabia suggestion. However, no luck with that. So without ...

Have 2 key fobs with the new truck, neither of them work, opened up one of them and the battery looked good. I happened to have just bought a battery for my garage door opener (which doesn't work either but that's another problem) So I put the brand new battery in key fob and still no response from the truck. I have never had a key fob before (I barely had power windows on my old ...

Hi, Just a quick one, my key fob has stopped working. It is not the battery as it is brand new, i think its more the electronics that have failed. It locks the car fine but when you come to unlock it, you'll be stood there for half an hour in the pouring rain still pressing the button. does anyone know a remedy for this? If not, does anyone know where i can get a new key fob with the ...

Am I supposed to set these things up or does it just save it to the key that's in operation. Nothing appears to change no matter which key I use. I have no CA or iD. Thanks

Well here is the deal..... The remote locking/unlocking of the key fobs no longer work. Car has to be locked using the key in the lock, this also arms the alarm. Unlocking has to be done with the key in the lock and the car started within 15 sec or the alarm activated. So far both both key fob batteries have been changed with no change. Also tried to match the remotes to the car again but the ...

Briefly. New member here. I've owned my 00 GTS for almost 3 years now. She is my daily driver and I beat 'er like a red-headed stepchild because I know she can handle it. I also take care of her very well. She's got about 180k on 'er and still runs like she just got past that break in period. Previous owner took amazing care of 'er. Only thing is he lost all the damn key fobs. He got a couple ...

This FAQ is great - as a new M5 owner, I'm getting a lot of mileage out of it. One thing that might be nice to add is a FAQ on keys. I need to replace a key FOB and would also like a valet key. A discussion/info on the dealer costs, programming process and whether 3rd party keys can be purchased more economically would be helpful. Thanks for this great resource! Bruce
