Following recent reports that a surprisingly large percentage of us are scared of motorways ( click here ), a new article appeared today suggesting that many of us will avoid certain "scary" junctions, with some people driving ridiculous lengths just to avoid these ( click here ). BTW, who did this research - Hyde Park Corner is much worse than Marble Arch - not least because there ...

We currently have a solution set up to an external company's servers to access a website, we have this set up going through two Webseal Junctions on our end, one internal and one a DMZ Junction. This is all set up and we are connecting to the external site fine via ssl. The issue we are getting is that for some links on the site we are getting doubled up junctions which is giving is ...

Why are some drivers just plain impatient when the light turn green? Many times i have been honked at junction for my sometimes slow start. Usually i am very tolerant and pay no notice and dont get boiled over at this trivial matter. But yesterday it might have been one of those bad days, a driver horned so loud and this really rattled my nerves..i got down open my bonnet and just ...

Hello, I recently installed the google picasa for viewing images, and quickly found out that it creates database files for it's own use that are forcibly located on drive C: in a user account specific location, and that this database can be very large - several gigabytes. To remedy the issue of picasa using so much space on my system files only -drive c, I created an ntfs junction where picasa...

Hi guys, It is my intention to create a website that "drip feeds" people with all the important information. I intend to do this by:- 1) Putting A4 posters up in my area (at traffic light junctions etc.) that read something like this:- It's not the VIRUS... SWINETRUTH. ORG ...it's the VACCINE!!! 2) Hopefully, people will be ...

Spaghetti Junction in Birmingham has topped a survey of Britain's scariest road systems. The poll for breakdown firm, Britannia Rescue, placed the M8 junctions through Glasgow in second with London's Marble Arch taking third spot. Between them, Birmingham, London and Glasgow took eight of the top 10 spots. The survey of 3,225 drivers found that as many as 8% avoided "scary" junctions ...

Why back purge your Ti frame when you can weld it in an argon chamber. Just came accross this pic from a frame supplier in the UK, as if tig welding complex tube junctions wasnt difficult enough anyway. 4128905067_9de68023d1_o.jpg

Hopefully we all know the procedure for indicating at standard, 4-way roundabouts. However, the procedure for roundabouts at "T" junctions is not clearly spelt out in the Highway Code and (based on local drivers) seems capable of different and strange interpretations. So, you are approaching a roundabout from the left hand branch of the "T", and you are going straight on (exiting onto ...

After reading the link in the Swindon Magic Roundabout thread re most scary junctions http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8382506.stm which also mentioned "A quarter of those surveyed also said that many road junctions were badly designed." I wondered what the assembled company found to be the most annoying thing in road design and or signing. My top hate is to be approaching a junction, in a ...
