Have any of you BTDT moms gone through this with your LO? My son had his 1 month appt today and the doctor says he has inguinal hernia and I had to make an appt with a pediatric surgeon to get it looked at and discuss surgery. I am so nervous and worried about my LO so I was hoping to see if any of your have experience with this and what the outcome was and what not. Thanks!

Hi I am trying to get into army rotc. I had my eye exam yesterday and I just had my medical today. Near the end of the medical exam the doctor noticed a lump or something on my groin. DS has an umbilical hernia which they wait til the child is four to five years old to fix (as often they resolve themselves). A woman my mom worked with had a son with an inguinal hernia though and they had to have it fixed when he was three months old... everything went perfect and her son is in his teens I believe. Hang in there.

Update, Had the bilateral inguinal hernia surgery on Dec 22, it took about 1 hour and they kept him in recovery for another 1.5 hours it all went pretty smooth and pretty much exactly like you said Yan, tyty again!! So far it seem a 100% recovery is in progress, we are very happy to have our baby back to us a little less grouchy
